Alper Gökgöz appointed country manager ING in Turkey

Alper Gökgöz has been appointed as the country manager of ING in Turkey starting this month.

Currently the head of Retail in Turkey, he is replacing Pinar Abay, who became head of Market Leaders and a member of ING’s Management Board Banking on 1 January 2020.

Alper, who started his career at management consultancy McKinsey & Company, joined ING in 2012. As director of Digital Banking, CRM and Strategic Partnerships in Turkey – and more recently as head of Retail – he has been instrumental in the bank’s digitalisation and transformation efforts. He played a leading role in driving the turnaround in customer satisfaction and turning ING in Turkey into one of the country’s leading customer-oriented digital banks.
