New CEO for ARAG Greece

The Board of Management of ARAG SE has appointed Andreas Gkrekas as the new CEO of ARAG Greece in Athens. Since January 1, 2026, he has been in charge of ARAG’s legal insurance business in Greece. Andreas Gkrekas has succeeded CEO Dimitrios Tsekouras, who retired at that time.

Andreas Gkrekas brings more than 20 years of experience in the Greek insurance industry. Most recently, the lawyer worked for Generali Hellas and Sofos Insurance Agency. “We are delighted that Andreas Gkrekas, with his legal expertise and profound industry experience, is joining our team,” says Dr. Renko Dirksen, CEO of ARAG SE. “The Greek market is a strategically important location for us, which we have been shaping with innovative products for more than five decades.” ARAG recently generated premium income of €6.3 million in Greece, making it one of the leading providers in the legal insurance segment.

After four decades with the ARAG Group, including 15 years as CEO of ARAG Greece, Dimitrios Tsekouras steps down from management upon reaching retirement age. In recognition of his significant contributions to ARAG’s Greek business and his extensive experience, he will continue to support the company in an advisory role during a transitional period. “The ARAG Group owes Dimitrios Tsekouras a great debt of gratitude,” emphasizes Dr. Renko Dirksen. “His name and presence are inseparably linked to the development of the legal insurance sector in Greece and the history of our branch. With energy and foresight, he has led ARAG Greece and strengthened our market position sustainably.”

All personnel changes at ARAG Greece are subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
