Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-December 2017

In January-December 2017, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €4,434 million, compared to a deficit of €3,569 million in the same period of 2016. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €48,415 million, compared to €48,941 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about €2,124 million for the repayment of arrears (compared to €3,850 million last year), amounted to €53,128 million, from €51,143 million in January-December 2016.
