Barclays Appoints Sean Burke as Co-Head of North American Banks in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Investment Banking

Barclays announces the appointment of Sean Burke as a Managing Director and Co-Head of North American Banks in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Investment Banking. Mr. Burke will be based in New York, will report to Gary Antenberg, Head of FIG Americas, and will partner with Faizal Sayani, Managing Director and Co-Head of North American Banks in FIG Investment Banking.

Mr. Burke joins Barclays with over twenty years of banking experience, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Investors Bancorp, where he was recognized as one of the “10 Best CFOs of 2020” by Industry Era Magazine. Prior to his CFO role, Mr. Burke was Head of U.S. Depository Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets. Mr. Burke started his career with Lehman Brothers and is now rejoining Gary Antenberg and team at Barclays.

Mr. Burke has worked on several complex capital raising and strategic advisory transactions in the banking sector including the sale of Investors Bancorp to Citizens Financial Group, Royal Bank of Canada’s acquisition of City National Bank, and the sale of Chevy Chase Bank to Capital One Financial.
