Piraeus Bank finances the acquisition of three operational wind farms with a combined capacity of 24.65MW from Cubico Sustainable Investments, a world leader in investments in renewable energy.

Cubico is a global leader in renewable energy with a total portfolio, exceeding 3.3GW, while this transaction marks its first investment in Greece, with the group having ambitious plans for further expansion in the country.

The refinancing facility, of total value of EUR 24m, was completed amidst the very challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, showcasing Piraeus Bank uninterrupted capability and commitment to support its customers in achieving its goals.

Eleni Vrettou, Executive General Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking in Piraeus Bank notes: “This transaction is a further testament of our leading position in Greece in Renewable Energy Sources having financed a current portfolio in excess of 1.7GW. Even more importantly, it highlights our strong know how and execution capabilities by remaining dedicated to deliver an appropriate solution for our clients even under the most challenging circumstances.”
