Yannis Dragassakis announces operation of Development Bank in 2019

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development Mr. Yannis Dragassakis announced that the Development Bank will be set as an institution in 2018 and become fully operational in 2019.

The Minister made the announcement at a meeting with the Chairman of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament Mr. Roberto Galtieri, who heads a group of MEPs on a two-day visit to Athens.

Mr. Galtieri congratulated Greece on the successful completion of the program, underlining that the debt-based regulation makes it viable, offering the predictability that markets need.

He also made it clear that the goal now is to strengthen the prospects of the Greek economy with growth, job creation and social cohesion being at the center of interest.
